I thought I would watch some poetry while waiting at a bar. "Bully" is so moving and represents an attitude so needed - regardless of the community. Thanks for nearly making me cry in public!

Hi, I am a student at the University of Rochester and have started my first semester of ASL. I just wanted to say I really love you vlog,I have to watch it a few times to catch all of it, but I really enjoy your poetry, I find it so creative and it really makes me want to continue learning ASL and about deaf culture. thank you so much!

I am a student of ASL in semester 3. I am also a poet. It is so beautiful and poignant your poem. it also made me want to research SEE which I have not learned about in class. We all need to join together in understanding. I am happy to have found your poetry. Keep creating!

I watched this for an assignment for class (Fred from above is my professor), I'm not too advanced in my signing, so it took many, many views for me to understand what exactly was going on. Even then, I had a really hard time understanding, and didn't get the real message. Then I read the comments underneath, and it helped so much.
I never knew that SEE existed (so that sentence made absolutely no sense) but once I read a few of the comments, I went and looked it up. I never knew that even within the deaf community there was such a divide between different people.
I was surprised by how much I learned and the understanding I gained from this one video. Thank you so much for doing it!
and thank you to everyone who posted the comments, they were also a huge help!

Your video gave me the chills! Beautifully done and your message was seen loud and clear!

The part when the SEE signer said "I'm Lonely" then it switched to the ASL signer "Where's the rest of deaf people?", just wow...amazing how a simple message can be so profound and tear-jerking. I was a SEE signer from when I was in pre school ALL the way to the high school. So I can relate to the loneliness (being the only deaf student in my high school class). Imagine my surprise when I entered college and saw so many deaf people (I did not go to Gallaudet...it was a state unversity where they offered a deaf program)). To make a long story short, I was finally accepted into the community by the ASL signers and I learned to adapt to the ASL, thanks to them! Funny how a strong ASL supporter who openly mocked me for my SEE signing and made me cry the first day of college ended up being one of my close friends, who knew?! *smiles*

Anyway, thanks for sharing your video. It brought back a flood of memories, both good and bad! You are truly an artist. Too bad I do not have a web cam right now....all the vlogs are inspiring me to go out and get one! (I am kind of intimidated because I am not exactly very good at ASL yet....but I am trying!).

I liked how you switched the use of the dominant hand for each person, as well as the color of shirt. It sure made clear which character you were in.
